I'll do a bit of research and see what I can come up with now that I have some ideas. No I haven't looked at any of the options you mention but I will now that you've brought them to my attention.in fact it never crossed my mind until today when I realised that iron sights were going to be out! ( Sadly yet another step towards old age ). In the past I've seen other 94AE rifle owners with their rifles fitted with scoped sights on the range but never took any interest in them 'till now!ĭo any of you shoot a Winchester 94AE or other Martini action rifle with scoped sights and have you encountered any problems either with mounts or shell case ejection with scoped sights fitted?Īny advice welcomed and thanks in advance. My eyesight's depth of field just aint what it used to be, making focusing a bit slow and tricky so sadly it looks like I'll need to convert to a scope which isn't what I'd call fun as it's not challenging enough which is why I preferred shooting this gun with open sights but sometimes you've no choice in the matter. My eyesight is perfect when it comes to distance.in fact over the years it has actually improved.if I still had the hand guns I had before the ban, the problem wouldn't arise as I would still be shooting those and focusing at arms-length which wouldn't present any problem but it's a different kettle of fish with open sights on my rifle. These days as is common with increasing age, I need glasses for reading which work absolutely fine with the scope on my BRNO rimfire but don't help whatsoever when shooting with the iron sights on my.
Today, when I went to the range I realised that I will probably have to give up shooting with 'iron' sights and defer to a scope for my gun sight as my eyesight is getting too 'long-sighted' for open sights. Hi guys, just wondering if there are any Winchester 94AE owners that frequent this forum?
